Tamara (Bogovich) Shepard,  started Bogovich School of Dance (BSD) in 2009, when she moved to New Hampshire from New York City. BSD is a dance studio with recreational and competitive dance options. As for the competition team, the dancers were 2x Regional Champions (2022,2023), Title Winners, and Highest Overall scorers. Bogovich School of Dance cultivates a community of passion, creativity, support, and family.

Classes are a time for students to feel safe, take risks, make friends, and develop dance techniques. Students will learn to comprehend musicality alongside count-driven choreography, lessons will also provide space to explore creativity. BSD emphasizes mutual respect between the faculty and student relationship. While consistent attendance to class is appreciated, understanding injury prevention and how to communicate absences for mental or physical needs is supported.

Tamara (Bogovich) Shepard: Owner

I received a BFA in dance from Point Park University.  I have had the pleasure of studying with Nicolas Petrov, Douglas Bentz, Madame Darvash, Jack Hertzog, Finis Jhung, and Sue Samuels.  Also, I have had the amazing opportunity to perform with Dance Along Ballet Company in NYC, with Linda Giancaspro.  Performing with the Flower City Ballet under Wayne Blatt taught me much about the full performance and not just the steps.  I have had amazing roles in Fairy Doll, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Nutcracker, and Les Sylphides just to name a few.  As much as I have enjoyed dancing on the stage teaching is my true passion.  My goal is to create a supportive and nurturing atmosphere for students to learn the art of dance and provide a second home and creative outlet for children to express themselves.

The skills you learn in dance you will take with you for the rest of your life.

Hannah Shepard: Instructor + Social Media Manager

My teaching philosophy is supported by my psychology major and dual minor in dance and business from Endicott College; I am infatuated with creating a space that provides dance education while utilizing dance as a modality of expression. While I have trained in all styles of dance my absolute favorite is contemporary street-style fusion. My classroom will empower students and encourage them to grow physically and mentally through lesson activities and expanding their dance understanding. I have made my best friends through dance and I plan to create a studio environment that does just that for my students.

I have performed in four Endicott College Repertory Dance Ensemble Showcases and trained from Chantal Doucett, Heather Myers, Nicole Sao Pedro, Joseph Jefferies, and Tamara Shepard.

Alicia Patenaude: Instructor

Alicia received her BS in Art Therapy from Springfield College, where she studied dance as a minor credit. She is currently working towards her MA in Expressive Arts Therapy at Lesley University. Alicia is a proud BSD Alumni, stating that "many of my teaching philosophies are cultivated from my experiences as a student at BSD, as well as the things I have learned through studying art and dance as a tool for mental health awareness and mental and physical healing."Alicia advocates for dance to be a space for community connection and creative exploration, which she strives to bring to her classes. Her favorite styles are jazz funk and Broadway jazz, but she has had the opportunity to study and perform many dance styles.

This year, Alicia is teaching beginner jazz and advanced hip hop. She is excited to be back at BSD teaching and hopes the students have as much fun as she had as a student.
